Mini Creatives

FALL REGISTRATION OPEN! Classes start September 1, 2026
​Our Mini Creatives Division is the perfect introduction to dance for your youngest movers. These classes offer a joyful, age-appropriate entry into movement and imagination in a studio setting. Through creative exploration, storytelling, music, and play, dancers develop mind-body awareness, confidence, and social-emotional skills—laying a strong foundation for future learning, both in and out of the studio.
Dancers take one 30- to 45-minute class per week, with or without a caretaker, depending on the class.

SPACE TOTS
A joyful class for toddlers and their grown-ups to explore dance through music, props, and play—building creativity, coordination, and connection. Perfect for little ones not quite ready to dance on their own.

The Little Artists Division offers a joyful, age-appropriate introduction to dance for young movers, welcoming both beginners and those continuing from early childhood programs. Dancers can explore ballet, jazz, or combine. Classes balance skill-building with play, improvisation, and creative expression, and students may enroll in 1–2 classes per week based on their interest and readiness. Hip Hop classes for ages 8–14 are also available through our Open Track.​

The Open Track Hip Hop program is ideal for recreational dancers or those enrolled in other divisions within The School at Open Space who want to enhance their rhythmic skills, musicality, and coordination.

The Junior Artists Division is a preparatory level to our pre-professional training track, designed for dancers ready to commit more time and focus to their training—while still enjoying the supportive and encouraging environment established in our Little Artists Division classes.​

Young Artists Division

Pre-Professional Training Track // Faculty Evaluation Required
The Young Artists Division is a pre-professional training track designed to prepare young people for both professional and collegiate dance careers in dance, while fostering a positive, rigorous, and inspiring training environment. Our goal is to develop not only strong technicians but also lifelong supporters of the arts.

Dancers in Levels 5 and 6 train 4 to 5 days per week, depending on age and placement. At this stage, students are asked to enroll in all sections of classes listed for their level to maintain training momentum, build strong peer connections, and support long-term progress.
​
Pointe work is optional for all gender identities.

Dancers enrolled in the full Level 5 curriculum are eligible to join the Young Artists Company 2 (YAC 2). YAC 2 meets twice per week and focuses on rehearsal and performance preparation. YAC 2 is optional, but highly encouraged. Participation builds stage confidence, deepens artistic growth, and prepares dancers for eventual progression to the Young Artists Company.​​
